Group of people joining hands in a team huddle outdoors.

We’re excited to share that we’ve expanded our Flip Active options to give you even more ways to stay protected.

In direct response to customer feedback, we’ve launched season passes and annual subscriptions, offering great value for longer-term cover.

Read on to learn more about all the ways you can now buy Flip, with examples and by-the-day cost comparisons to help you see how to get the maximum value out of your cover.

Flip’s Active cover just got even better

When we first launched Flip in 2021, we were determined to do insurance differently, and we were the first insurance company in Australia to offer accidental injury insurance to cover a single day. It changed the way people thought about insurance. Suddenly, you didn’t have to hold insurance year-round if you only felt at risk of injury on certain days.

Fast forward to today, and we’ve learned that people love ultra-flexible cover that they can tailor to suit their lifestyle. And here's the thing about being active in Australia: your routine isn't the same every week or month. So we built options that actually match how active people live their lives.

Meet your new options

We've kept everything you love about Flip Active—fast cash payouts on approved claims, crystal-clear benefits and no waiting periods—while adding new purchase options that make it even more flexible.

What’s new?

  • Season passes: Get cover for 90 or 180 days at better value for active periods (think sports seasons or long training blocks).
  • Annual subscription: 12 months of no-fuss protection from one purchase. Our best value yet.

"We're always working to find better ways to support our customers," says Zac Hancock, Head of Growth at Flip. "These new season passes and the annual subscription are a direct response to what we've learned about how active Australians actually live their lives. It's about aligning cover to people's approach to sport and activities, with attractive pricing that makes sense."

The many ways you can now Flip

All the options provide the same comprehensive accidental injury cover detailed in our PDS, including benefits for a wide range of injuries, from concussion and sprains through to major incidents (up to $50,000). You now have the option of new durations. Here’s a handy table so you can see everything at a glance:

Real lives, real cover

Anna's approach: choosing what fits

Anna from our Growth Marketing team perfectly captures how the new options work in practice in her active life. She’s super active, playing golf and tennis weekly, mixing up her gym routine with weights, reformer pilates, boxing and yoga, and has recently gotten into badminton.

"I look at buying injury cover when I’m doing something that feels more risky. I choose what cover to buy depending on the length of activity," Anna explains. "I was at Thredbo for 5 days snowboarding, so it was cheaper to buy weekly cover than multiple daily covers.”

Anna then chose a subscription when she took on a new challenge. “I’m not a huge fan of running, but I loved the feeling of achieving something challenging when training for my half marathon. I followed a coaching plan with 2-3 runs per week, and I went with monthly cover for those 4-6 weeks before the race when I knew I was pushing my body more. Having that extra protection gave me confidence to really commit to the training plan.”

For Anna, it's about having options. "I like knowing that if I do get an accidental injury, I can get a cash payout to spend however I want. As a beginner-intermediate snowboarder, I felt somewhat at risk when I went to Thredbo. I remember the very first time I snowboarded, I fell on my head coming off the chairlift and it hurt pretty bad. Having cover just gives me the confidence to really get out there and enjoy myself."

With the new season passes, someone like Anna could grab a 90-day pass to cover her entire winter sports season at just $1.10 per day.

Peter's peace of mind approach

Then there's Peter, who discovered Flip at a cycling event about three years ago and has been on a monthly subscription ever since. His story shows how Flip works for everyday protection.

"I was making a conscious decision to cycle to work and save money by not having a car," Peter shares. "Flip gave me a lot of peace of mind for that. I have two children, and I think it gave my partner a bit of peace of mind as well. I cycle almost every day in all weather conditions, including at night and in bad weather, so it just makes sense to have protection."

What's interesting about Peter's approach is how he thinks about value: "I haven't looked at the short-term ones, but the monthly subscription works out to just over a dollar a day. Having that peace of mind for cycling also means that if I do other activities like tennis, I’m already covered for injuries, it's not an additional cost."

Peter appreciates the HCF backing too: "I didn't know who Flip was when I first signed up, but seeing that it was backed by HCF played a big part in me taking it up."

For someone like Peter, the new annual subscription at $299 would save him nearly $200 per year while maintaining that same everyday peace of mind.
