When a soccer injury stops you in your tracks, Flip pays you cash for eligible injuries to help get you back on the pitch.
With cover from a single game to a full season for individuals, families and clubs, we have soccer insurance to suit football players at every level.

Soccer or football insurance isn’t mandatory in Australia, but plenty of individuals, families and clubs are choosing it to help players recover from eligible injuries.
Football is Australia's most popular sport with more than 1.9 million Australians participating in 2025. With that many players on the pitch every week, injuries are common.
Transport to appointments, slings, physio and extra childcare are the types of recovery costs that can quickly add up and put strain on household budgets.
If you're playing football with Flip activated and suffer an eligible injury, we pay you a set cash amount for approved claims, mostly within a few business days.
Flip's soccer insurance is personal accidental injury cover. If you suffer an eligible injury in a football accident while your cover is active, we pay you cash. It's not club liability insurance (that protects your club from legal claims). This is personal injury cover to help you recover.
You can decide how to use your cash payout. Maybe you need a knee brace or meal deliveries while you're resting. The extra cash can help with unforeseen injury costs so you can relax and focus on getting back on the pitch.
Which soccer insurance suits you depends on where you play, how often, and whether you're covering yourself or a whole team.
We can’t tell you what cover to buy, but here are some general guidelines to help you decide. Always read our PDS to see if Flip is right for you.
Whether you're playing Saturday morning juniors, a midweek social comp, indoor soccer or futsal, you're covered when your policy is active.
You choose how long you need cover, from a single game day to a week, a month, a season or a full year. With Flip, you only pay for cover when you need it, and you can mix and match different options as your season changes.
You can buy Flip Roaming by the week or in 30-day blocks. It reimburses you for medical expenses overseas and pays you cash for all eligible accidental injuries on your trip, not just when you're on the field.
Flip Roaming gives you two layers of protection.
Flip Group Active is for soccer clubs, schools, rep programs, tournament organisers and tour operators who want to offer injury cover to everyone who plays.
Instead of asking players to sort out their own insurance, you can include it in rego fees, tour costs or event entries. It's a value-add that builds trust, supports player welfare and takes admin off your plate.
Maya was playing in a Saturday morning club match when she jumped for a header, landed awkwardly and felt her knee give way.
After seeing a doctor and getting scans, she was diagnosed with a partial ligament tear.
She paid $7 for Flip Active for the day and got a $400 payout.
Daniel was playing in a tournament in Berlin when a hard collision left him with a displaced fracture of his lower leg.
Daniel paid €840 (~A$1,400) for emergency care in Germany.
He paid $80 for Flip Roaming for a week and got a $3,900 payout.
Amira wanted rugby player insurance that was simple, fast and gave her confidence to play hard. After seeing Flip on social media, she signed up for a monthly subscription to cover training, games and even injuries outside of footy.
"Footy is a risky sport, but I just want to get out and enjoy it and not worry about what will happen if I get hurt. The whole process, from signing up to claiming, was really simple. It's worth it for me, and it supports what I like to do."

Lynn runs Gridiron Victoria and was looking for a way to build trust with parents and players in a full-contact sport. Before Flip Group Active, the organisation only had public liability cover, which didn't protect players who got injured during games. That was holding growth back.
"Gridiron Victoria has never had accident insurance. And that's why it was so important for me to find a provider that we could work well with together. Flip is a hidden gem. I’d encourage everyone to get it."

Here's how Flip works in real soccer situations, from local club games to overseas tours and youth tournaments.
If you go up for a header, land badly and fracture your collarbone. Flip Active pays you a cash payout for eligible injuries within a few business days. The cash is yours to use however you want.
If your soccer boots and kit get stolen from the changeroom after training, that’s not covered by Flip Active.
Flip Active covers almost any type of soccer in Australia and NZ, including outdoor and indoor matches, social and competitive games, and MiniRoos through to elite level.
If you're playing in a five-a-side tournament in Spain and take a hard tackle, dislocating your shoulder, Flip Roaming reimburses your overseas medical costs (up to A$20,000) and pays you Extra Recovery Cash.
If you get food poisoning the night before a tour match in Portugal and have to cancel part of your trip, that's a travel insurance issue, not something Flip Roaming covers.
Travel insurance stops when you land back in Australia. Flip Roaming doesn't. Extra Recovery Cash helps with costs after you get home so you’re supported to get back on the field.
If a junior player fractures a wrist in a Saturday club match, they claim through the Flip app directly and receive a cash payout for their eligible injury within a few business days, with no admin for the club.
If player arrives at your club's gala day with a knee injury from last week's training, pre-existing injuries aren't covered under Flip Group Active.
With Flip Group Active, your players claim through the app themselves. No invoices to chase, no paperwork on your end, just fast cash for eligible injuries when someone in your club needs it.

Soccer insurance or football insurance helps protect players from the financial impact of injuries on the field. Depending on the type of policy, it can cover medical costs, physio, dental work, time off work and sometimes gives a cash payout to cover other costs associated with recovery.
Some soccer insurance is included in club memberships or rep team fees, provided by state bodies or national associations. Other players buy it individually as personal accident or sports injury insurance. Travel insurance can sometimes cover soccer, but some policies exclude contact sports or charge higher premiums for them.
Flip offers on-demand personal accident insurance designed for soccer players. When you're injured and we approve your claim, we pay you cash, usually within a couple of business days. You decide when to activate cover (a single match, a week, a month, a season or a full year), and you spend the payout however you choose, like on transport, food deliveries, medical supplies or anything else you need. Flip is flexible, instant and works for any type of football in Australia, New Zealand and covered overseas destinations.

Soccer club insurance (sometimes called public liability or association insurance) protects the club from legal claims if someone is injured at a club event or on club property. Soccer player insurance (like Flip) protects individual players by paying them cash if they're injured. Clubs can have both types of cover, one for the organisation, one for the people.
